HAMPTON, NH - The Chatham Highlanders completed the rigorous Ragnar "Reach the Beach," a 200-plus-mile relay race held over the weekend in New Hampshire.

The Chatham Highlanders have been running relays for 10 years and the group that ran in the "Reach the Beach" race included: Jim Connelly, Mike Cooney, Michael Perlmutter, Marguerite White, Alan Gates, Gautam Ranji and Wendy Kuppenheimer.

Also, running for the team were Bonnie Winant, Jennifer Gates, Karl Wachter and Jill Chisholm

The Ragnar Relay is a multi-stage, point-to-point team relay race covering hundreds miles in one straight shot. Ragnar Reach the Beach is one of the oldest and longest relay races in the country.

The relay began at the Bretton Woods ski resort. The course took teams through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, past fields, lakes, mountain top vistas, and the occasional covered bridge ultimately finished at Hampton Beach State Park.
