Chatham Ice Hockey Holds on to Defeat Mo-Beard, 3-2

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Jack O'Connor scored two goals and Will Barnett produced a goal and two assists in powering Chatham's 3-2 ice hockey victory over Morristown-Beard on Friday at Mennen Sports Arena.

O'Connor converted a pass from Will Barnett to score 2:40 into the third period, staking Chatham (9-1-4), ranked No. 4 in the state by, to a 3-0 advantage before No. 14 Morristown-Beard made it a game.

Brian Andrejewski broke up the shutout for Morristown-Beard with his goal 6:40 into the third period before Alex Borowiec connected on a power-play goal at 8:51, slicing the deficit to 3-2 for the Crimson.

Cougar goalie C.J. Albanese was forced to make nine of his 27 saves in the final period, which included a 6-on-4 advantage for Morristown-Beard, which pulled its goalie in the closing seconds.

Barnett opened the scoring in the second period, netting his 14th goal of the season on a pass from Bryn Casey. O'Connor made it 2-0 later in the period when he scored during a delayed penalty on a pass from Barnett.

Morristown-Beard goalie Daniel Porth was credited with 13 saves.
