MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Bryn Casey and Ryan Barnett each scored a goal in the first period, both set up by Will Barnett, sparking Chatham to an 8-0 ice hockey victory over Rumson-Fair Haven in the first round of the Public B state tournament on Monday at Mennen Sports Arena.

Chatham (13-3-5) broke the game open in the second period when Austin Pierce, Ryan Barnett, Will Barnett and Kevin Allen each netted a goal to make it a 6-0 advantage. Mark McNally, Casey, A.J. Albanese and Jack O'Connor were each credited with an assist in the period.

In the third period, Jeff Haley scored off a feed from Henry Drury and Tommy Guy converted a pass from Brendan Darby to close out the scoring for the Cougars. 
Senior goalie C.J. Albanese notched 16 saves in blanking Rumson-Fair Haven (9-9-1).
