Chatham Physician to Discuss Organic Food and Nutrition

On December 5th, 2017, the Kiwanis Club of the Chathams and Madison, one of the largest Kiwanis Clubs in New Jersey will host an inter-active talk entitled: “Organic Foods: Are They Really Better?” will be presented at the Charlie Brown’s Restaurant in Chatham Township

Dr. Joseph Murphy, a former food chemist and University of Pittsburgh Diet Study participant will be discussing such subjects as: What does the word “Organic” really mean? How is it regulated? Is organic food more nutritious? Is it worth the extra cost? What is “organic farming?" What is “natural food?"

Organic Food in all its facets will be discussed as well as how the word “Organic” applies to non-food items.  After the presentation, there will be an extensive question and answer period where Dr. Murphy will answer all queries dealing with the subject.

A former food research scientist, Dr. Murphy has been in private practice in Chatham for over 33 years.  He has an extensive background in food formulation and analysis as well as all aspects of holistic healthcare and weight loss.

Dr. Murphy received his Bachelor degree in biology from Rider College and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. A sought-after lecturer and author, he is past president of the New Jersey and Morris County Chiropractic Societies as well as the NJ Board of Examiners. He is also a member of the continuing education faculty at the University of Bridgeport.
