Chatham Runners Logsdon, Brown Place at Group 3 State Boys Track Meet

Chatham juniors Avery Brown and Colin Logsdon placed in the Group 3 state indoor track meet and will advance to the Meet of Champions

TOMS RIVER, NJ - Chatham juniors Colin Logsdon and Avery Brown each placed at the NJSIAA Group 3 Boys Winter Track Championships on Saturday in the Bennett Center, earning a spot in the Meet of Champions set for next Saturday, also in the Bennett Center.

Logsdon placed third in the 1,600-meter run in 4:24.24 and Brown was fourth in the 400 with a time of 50.41.

Chatham had 14 points, gaining a tie for fourth place in Group 3 with Morris Hills. Colts Neck, Pennsauken and Northern Valley Old Tappan finished ahead of the Cougars.

Chatham's 4x400 relay team of Vincent Avallone, Jaylen Haye, Liam Cadden and Avery Brown ran 3:30.17 and finished fourth, qualifying for the Meet of Champions 

In a separate event next week, Brown will run in the 200-meter showcase event. Only 24 runners in the state qualify to run in the event.
