TOMS RIVER, NJ - Chatham senior Colin Logsdon set a personal record in placing second in the 3,200-meter race at the NJSIAA Winter Indoor Track Meet of Champions held Sunday in the Bennett Center.
Logsdon won the silver medal with a time of 9:17.29.
"He also defeated both runners from West Windsor North who had finished ahead of him last week in the Group 3 meet," Chatham coach Patrick Barry said. "The difference this week was Colin's kick. He edged the third-place runner by .09 seconds.
"Devin Hart of Point Pleasant Boro was the winner of the race and is also the defending outdoor champion. Colin has also qualified to run in the Indoor Nationals in NYC on March 9 and will compete in the 5K race."
Chatham's Liam Cadden also fared well in the 800-meter run as a "Wild Card" entry. The senior clocked 2:01.05 to set a personal record at the Bennett Center, earning 19th place out of 42 qualifiers. There are no banked turns at the Bennett Center, where only short spikes are allowed.
Chatham sophomore Sam Dennerlein finished 27th in the shot put, one place below his seed. He tossed the 12-pound shot 46 feet, 8 inches.
