MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - Senior Alec Gironda ran 16:21 to finish 10th in pacing the Chatham boys cross-country team to its best team average of the season, earning the Cougars fifth place in the Large School Division at the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Championships held Tuesday at Greystone Park.

Jake Fortuna placed second in the JV race, clocking 17:24 in leading Chatham to a first-place team finish.

The Chatham varsity posted its best team average of 16:59 to end with 127 points, finishing behind Mendham, West Morris, Morristown and Delbarton.
