Chatham Shade Tree Commission Extends Arbor Day Celebration to May 1

CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham will celebrate National Arbor Day on April 29 with the rest of the nation, but the Chatham Borough Shade Tree Commission, will extend its own celebration to May 1.

"In honor of Arbor Day on May 1st, over at Cafe Beethoven, our lovely and talented Shade Tree member, Kristy Chmura, will be having a small concert between 3 and 5 p.m.," Patrick Carroll, chairman of the Chatham Shade Tree Commission, said.

in other news, the Chatham Shade Tree Commission has applied for a DEP grant to help offset the costs of preventive treatment of Chatham Borough trees in anticipation of the Emerald Ash Borer's arrival. The Emerald Ash Borer will kill Ash trees in town left untreated.

Chatham High Tech Club Places Third at Thomas Edison Invention Challenge

The Tech Club at Chatham High School placed third in the 8th annual Thomas Edison Invention Challenge this year.
