Chatham Sisters Are Out to "Help Spread Smiles" This Summer

Emma, Maddy and Carly Frohnapfel are out to Help Spread Smiles this summer

CHATHAM, NJ - Help Spread Smiles is an organization Chatham sisters Emma, Carly and Maddy Frohnapfel established last summer and are continuing in 2015.

"Our goal was to pay it forward anyway possible," Emma Frohnapfel said. "Our first drive was collecting school supplies for Jersey Cares and School on Wheels. Both Jersey Cares and School on Wheels provide school supplies to kids who can’t afford them.

"Equally important, in December of 2014 we collected toys, pajamas, hats, books and other items for Saint Barnabas Medical Center. All of the donations went to the playroom in Saint Barnabas, where Child Life Specialists play with kids recovering from illnesses."

With the Frohnapfel's continued goal to "pay it forward," this summer they will be donating to Jersey Cares and Saint Barnabas Medical Center again. Specifically, for Jersey Cares they are collecting new school supplies.

"Now’s the time to go through your backpacks and find any new or unused school supplies to donate," Emma Frohnapfel said.

Additionally, the sisters are collecting items for the children at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

"Take a look through your playroom and see if you have any new toys like Barbie dolls or action figures," Frohnapfel said. "Used/or new movies and used/or new electronics (old iPods, iPod touches, iPhones, Xbox, etc…) are all great donations to make a child smile. Finally, summer pajamas are also accepted and appreciated at Saint Barnabas Medical Center."

Over the course of the summer the sisters be hosting lemonade/bake sales to raise money for Jersey Cares and Saint Barnabas.
