CHATHAM, NJ - The Lady Cougars rallied to score four runs in the second inning and held a 4-2 lead over Somerville in the first round of the NJSIAA North 2, Group 3 state tournament before rain caused the suspension of play on Monday.

No. 5 seed Chatham will resume its game against 12th-seeded Somerville on Tuesday afternoon. Chatham's Camryn Davies will lead off the bottom of the third with no one out and nobody on base.

Freshman Anna Lengner singled to ignite Chatham's four-run outburst in the second. Senior catcher Caroline Viscovich followed with a double. Hallie Pellegrin and Sarah Stubeck hit singles to bring Lengner and Viscovich home. Kelly Krineck and Julia Piness each gained an RBI, driving home Pellegrin and Stubeck to make it 4-2.
