CHATHAM, NJ - Morgan Pellegrin put down a squeeze bunt to drive in a run and Sarah McCabe hit a two-run double when Chatham pushed across three runs in the fifth inning in posting a 6-2 softball victory over Mendham in the first round of the Morris County Tournament played Thursday at the Chatham Middle School.

Melissa Landry (6-3) pitched a three-hitter to win it for Chatham (10-4), striking out four and walking two. The Lady Cougars received two hits, including a double, and an RBI from Morgan Tobin.

Julia Buckley had 2 doubles for Mendham (4-5).

No. 4 seed Chatham plays host to No. 5 Hanover Park in the second round of the MCT, 11 a.m. Saturday.
