Chatham teenager Ali Dorrego, 14, recently was selected from among 5,000 nominees to receive a trip to London, England, where she received the Yokohama VIP Soccer Experience, training with Chelsea F.C. and attending the team's opening home match in Stamford Bridge.

For the third consecutive year Yokohama Tire Corporation selected 12 young soccer players from across the Nation to travel to London, England for a dream trip: “ The Yokohama VIP Soccer Experience with Chelsea F.C.” 

The participants were selected from Yokohama-sponsored youth soccer clubs across the country. This contest, part of Yokohama’s Youth ‘PSI’ program, aims to recognize a club soccer players Philanthropic Commitment to Community, Scholarly/Academic accomplishments and Integrity and Sportsmanship. As part of the program, Dorrego got to spend a day at Cobham Training Center where she trained with Chelsea F.C. coaches and players, including USA's Christian Pulisic, and later attended the team’s season-opening home match at iconic Stamford Bridge against Leicester City F.C.

Dorrego represented her soccer club, FCUSA NJ, where she plays for the club’s 2004 NPL team, coached by Dominic Rice. She attends the Morristown-Beard School, where she is a freshman.
