MONTCLAIR, NJ - Chatham High Theatre students rated among the top performers at the 2020 Governor's Awards Competition held last weekend at Montclair State University.

"This year's winners and finalists worked arduously in preparation for competition day," Laura Russo, CHS theatre teacher, said. "They tackled challenging material with ease, and their performances were top-notch. I am beyond proud of their talent and dedication to theatre.”

CHS students took first-place honors in the category of Musical Ensemble for their performance of "21 Chump Street".

Gabby Vecciarelli placed first in Contrasting Monologues, and Maddie Boland and Campbell Ragins took first in Communications/Media Arts.

CHS students Adi Roy and Lily Bauer earned third place in Dramatic Pairs; Roma Welsh and Dash Green placed sixth in Dramatic Pairs, and Andrew Palmieri and Dash Green finished fifth in Comedic Pairs.

Adi Roy also was a Musical Solo Finalist, as were the Amanda Carroll and Shobhit Samar, who were Improv Pairs Finalists.
