Chatham Township Fire Under Investigation


CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – Emergency personnel responded to a structure fire shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday night in Chatham Township.

According to reports, Chatham Township Police, along with the Chatham Township, Green Village and Chatham Borough Fire Departments were dispatched to the fire at 721 Fairmount Avenue. Officers Michael Bloom and Michael Sawyer were the first to arrive on the scene and were able to put out a majority of the fire with extinguishers from their patrol cars.

The fire, which originated outside in the rear of the residence, is under investigation by Detectives from the Chatham Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutors Office.
