Chatham's Amanda Fazio Breaks Bucknell Softball Strikeout Record

NEWARK, DEL - Senior Amanda Fazio pitched a shutout for Bucknell University on Sunday and became the school's all-time leading strikeout leader in the 6-0 victory over Delaware State.

She boosted her strikeout total to 366, passing the record of 364 set by Christie Wiest from 2005 through 2008.

As a junior at Bucknell, Fazio set school single-season records with 19 wins and 164 strikeouts.

At Chatham High, she was a member of the 2011 Lady Cougar team that won the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 title in 2011.

Fazio was named the Bucknellian Athlete of the Week in the school's student newspaper. Through the first 10 games of the season, she is batting .462 with 18 hits, 11 runs scored and 39 total bases. On the mound, Fazio owns a 1.35 ERA with 24 strikeouts.
