Chatham's Dennerlein Wins Wayne Gardiner Trophy for Best Throw

Grant Hauck helped Chatham's Distance Medley Relay team place second at Gardiner Holiday Relays

MADISON, NJ - Chatham's Ed Dennerlein threw the shot put 49 feet, 6 inches to win the Wayne Gardiner trophy for the best individual throw of the competition Saturday at the Gardiner Holiday Relays held at Drew University.

Dennerlein and Chris DeSante combined to throw 87 feet, 5 inches in earning the Cougars third place in the shot put relay at the event.

Chatham's Distance Medley Relay team of Kevin Gesell, Steve Bondurich, Will Mitchell and Grant Hauck placed second in 10:58.97, just one second slower than the school record.

Chatham's 4x800 Relay team of Liam Hynes, Will Mitchell, Alec Gonzalez and Pat Mortensen took sixth place in 8:54.84.

Chatham high jumpers Justin Corbitt and Harris Eisenhardt combined to clear 10 feet, 6 inches, good for sixth place.

Chatham JV 4x200:  Van Benedict, Max Benedict, Avery Brown and Armen Panossian placed fifth in 1:48.29.

Chatham JV 4x800: Team A: 1st in 9:16; Harris Eisenhardt, Luke Malanga, Colin Logsdon and Jack Byrd.
                     Team B: 3rd in 9:32; Paul Malatesta, Patrick Connor, Bill Schneider and Chris Schneider.

Chatham JV Shot Put: 3rd with 67 feet, 2 inches; Adam Oare and Michael Byrne.
