The Minisink Swim and Tennis Club, at 1 Princeton St. in Chatham, selected its best swim team performers to represent the club in the 61st annual Town and Country League All-Team Meet, held Saturday, July 30, at Clearwater Swim Club.
The Town and Country League is comprised of six teams: the Berkeley Aquatic Club, the Chatham Fish and Game Association, the Clearwater Swim Club of New Providence, the Crestview Swim and Tennis Club of New Providence, the Minisink Swim and Tennis Club, and the Noe Pond Club of Chatham Township.
According to the Amateur Athletic Association, the Town and Country League’s All-Team Meet is the first and oldest summer swim team competition in the nation.
Today’s All-Team Meet boasts 50 events, which include medley and freestyle relays per age group for boys and girls, and one race per age group for boys and girls for each of the four strokes: the backstroke, the breaststroke, the butterfly and the freestyle.
Competing for Minisink as the club’s “best of the best” were Kyle Beebe, Abbie Bigham, Hunter Bigham, Jack Bigham, Aiden Bolton, Carlin Chazen, Sadie Clarke, Sophia Clarke, Alex Doroski, Luke Doroski, Will Foucher, Emily Gorham, Hayden Hodge, Moira Horan, Aiden Kagan, Elena LaTorre, Gianna La Torre, Ava Linn, Andrew McDavid, Conor Mulligan, Avery Nash, Caroline Nash, Will Nash, Ryan Sprague, Dennis Sullivan, Leah Tapper, Jack Tapper, Will Von Doussa, Maeve Willmann, and Kate Ziegler
The team was skippered by Head Coach Caroline Nash and Assistant Coaches Abbie Bigham, Emily Gorham and Audrey Patrick.
