CHATHAM, NJ - As a former Air Force Captain, Chatham's Tom Salvas makes a point of attending the Green Village Memorial Day ceremonies. This year, Salvas captured the most "Patriotic" photo in Morris County when he snapped Rudy Savoie playing "Taps" at the May 28 event held at the Green Village triangle.

Salvas was informed Wednesday by Morris County that his entry of Savoie (shown below) had won first place in the county-wide contest.

Previously, Salvas covered the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where he snapped classic photos of the behind-the-scenes action during Bud Greenspan's filming of the documentary "16 Days of Glory."
