CUMAC Teams with You Choose For 80s Night Concert Fundraiser

Following up on an extremely successful pairing in 2011, CUMAC (pronounced Koo-Mack, www.CumacEcho.org), Passaic County’s largest food bank, is once again teaming with YouChoose, LLC for a rockin’ “CUMAC ‘80s Night 2.0” fundraiser on Saturday, April 21 at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be held at the Chatham United Methodist Church’s Rodda Hall, 460 Main Street, Chatham. For information about ticket prices and to purchase tickets online, please visit YouChoose (www.MyYouChoose.com). and visit them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ MyYouChoose.

This affordable, family-friendly event will include a CUMAC Acoustic Dinner Presented By Whole Foods of Madison (www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/ MadisonNJ) at 6pm, a “House So Proud” Room Makeover contest sponsored by Morris County’s Handyman Matters (www.HandymanMatters.com/Morristown/), and a gaggleof mostly middle-aged men who have agreed to allow Wayne’s Public Image Ltd. – The Salon (www.PilTheSalon.com) to style Mohawks For Hunger in exchange for a cashbounty on their heads, cash supplied by their families, friends and co-workers. And of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without dancing, a Tree Tavern Pizza (www.TreeTavernPizza.com) Eating Contest, and more than 30 songs of the ‘80s played by your YouChoose Band. All songs have been requested in advance, and paid for, by your friends, neighbors and fellow Americans. Those who made and paid for song requests have the option of singing and/or playing with the band for their song. Come on out to see who decided to invoke their option.

"YouChoose is proud to be working with CUMAC for a second consecutive year," said YouChoose Chief Organizer Guy Dave Philp. "If your family loves awesome '80s music (chosen by you!), an amazing, affordable dinner, contests, looking at goofy men in mohawks, free coffee and free Tree Tavern Pizza, while also supporting a tremendous organization that feeds people and changes lives, then join us in Chatham. A splendid time is guaranteed for all on April 21st. That's a promise!"

“CUMAC is thrilled to partner once again with YouChoose in celebration of feeding people and changing lives! CUMAC ‘80s Night 2.0 is sure to be full of fun for ‘80s enthusiasts and anti-hunger advocates alike, and the money raised could not come at a better time,” said Rev. Patricia Bruger CUMAC Executive Director. “‘80s Night once again falls during the Feinstein Challenge, where every dollar raised entitles our agency to a bigger portion of Mr. Feinstein’s one million dollar giveaway. Last year’s ‘80s Night ensured we were one of the top earners in the state and we’re confident that CUMAC ‘80s Night 2.0 will rock and roll us into top earnings again! So come down, enjoy, and know that YOU play a critical role in helping us feed the hungry. ”

“This will be another great family night out celebration with CUMAC and YouChoose, raising hunger awareness and fund raising ‘to feed people and changelives,’” said CUMAC President, Don Matthews. “I am personally looking forward to being one of those ‘mostly middle aged guys’ sporting a Mohawk for Hunger. Thank you all for your support and donations.”

CUMAC works to alleviate hunger and its root causes for those in need in Paterson, Passaic County and northern New Jersey, and has been serving the community for more than 30 years. As the largest food distribution program in Passaic County, CUMAC regularly feeds about 2,600 low-income people a month. About 1 in 3 of their clients are children, 1 in 6 are disabled and 1 in 8 are senior citizens. CUMAC's work relies heavily on donations from individuals and groups, and is also made possible by state, county and agency grants, income from its thrift shop and proceeds from fundraising events.

YouChoose puts on live music events, built around one decade, where You create the play list by making, and paying for, song requests. Those who request a song can also sing/play with the band on their song. Funds are also raised through ticket & merchandise sales, dinners, and integrating sponsors into the night.
