BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Chatham senior Ed Dennerlein won both the shot put and the discus to help the Cougars earn second place behind Mendham at the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 sectional meet held Friday and Saturday at Ridge High.

Dennerlein won gold in the shot put with a heave of 50 feet, 4.25 inches and won the discus with a throw of 136 feet.

Chatham's 4x400 relay team of Steve Bondurich, Harris Eisenhardt, Jaylen Haye and Nick Ferrone placed first in 3:27.62.

Other top performances for Chatham included:

Ferrone, who had the fifth-best time in the 100-meter dash in 11.66 and was fourth in the 200 in 23.44. Bondurich ran third in the 400 in 50.32.

Will Mitchell placed second the 1600 in 4:26.72 and crossed fourth in the 3200 in 9:45.28.

Jason Alexis took fifth in the triple jump at 42 feet, 1 inch.
