CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, and Florham Park firefighters were among those who responded to a fire at 166 Main Street in Chatham at 10:44 a.m. Thursday and extinguished the second-floor apartment fire located above Chatham Floor & Decor.

Main Street was closed off to traffic from Passaic Avenue to Summit Avenue.

"At this point, we don't have any reported injuries," Chatham Borough Police Captain Brian Gibbons said.

The building located at the corner of Hillside Avenue and Main Street, houses four second-floor apartments and five storefronts. Most of the damage was contained to the apartments above Chatham Floor & Decor and the first-floor store. The building is owned by David Edgar Whiting.
