Four Chatham Performers to Star on Stage in "13 the Musical" Set to Open Friday, July 26 at The Chatham United Methodist Church

CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham actors and actresses Anna Elston, Alexa Rojek, Liam Driscoll and Casey Rojek star in "13 the Musical,"  which opens 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Chatham United Methodist Church on Main Street.

There will be two shows on Saturday, July 27, a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30.

The four Chatham players were among the 24 cast for musical after 250 auditioned for Kate Kennedy's PeachCraft Studios production.

The musical is about 13-year-old Evan Goldman, who moves to a new town and tries to fit in with the "cool crowd." Patrice, played by Elston, becomes Goldman's first friend.

Archie, portrayed by Driscoll, is physically disabled and is Patrice's best friend. Kendra, played by Alexa Rojek, is the most popular girl in school and Simon, played by Casey Rojek, is one of the teenage boys at the school.

The conservatory-trained children all studied the dramaturgy of the play, choreography and script analysis before the production began under the theatrical direction of John Giresi and musical direction of Adam Gilbert.

"13 the Musical" was performed on Broadway, closing in 2009.
