Winter, spring, summer or fall, I like to chill out on the school's spacious front lawn.
It may be cold outside, but it's always warm with the students.

My name is Gino. I am a specially trained assistance dog from Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). CCI is a national, non-profit organization that provides highly trained assistance dogs, like me, to increase independence and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Now, I am a Facility Dog at ECLC of New Jersey’s school in Chatham, N.J., for children with special needs.

About ECLC of New Jersey

ECLC of New Jersey was established as a nonprofit in 1970 by a group of parents who wanted children with special needs to have a more focused and dedicated learning environment. In the past four decades, ECLC has grown from serving a handful of children to offering a network of lifelong services – education, enrichment and employment – to nearly 700 children and adults with special needs across the state.

ECLC schools are located in Chatham and Ho-Ho-Kus, P.R.I.D.E. Adult Centers have opened in Chatham and Paramus, and ECLC's supported-employment agency, Community Personnel Services, offers services to all students and adult clients. Learn more about ECLC.

ECLC is a member of the Alliance of Private Special Education Schools of North Jersey, a coalition of more than 30 state-approved private special education schools in Northern and Central New Jersey dedicated to helping parents and educators better understand and access appropriate program options in special education.
