To the Editor:

Dear Neighbors,

I write to endorse the Amee Shah/ Phil Ankel ticket for the Chatham Township Committee. I strongly support their platform of strategic planning for future success, as well as civility, curiosity and respect in all things.

I got to know Phil via his children. His youngest daughter took an art class that I gave at the Library of the Chathams years ago. Then his oldest daughter took art lessons with me for a few years, while in high school. Phil’s oldest daughter and my youngest graduated from Chatham High together in 2019. I know Phil’s children are active in many high school and community activities. We often saw each other around the school. He and his wife support the kids in all they do. I was happy to find out Phil’s daughter was to attend the University of Chicago, the same university that my eldest son graduated from.

I know Phil to be grounded in reality from his legal and audit work. At the same time, he enjoys and supports the arts. From their family time in Europe, I know the family appreciates access to museums, music and more. While we in Chatham have so much of that in NYC, it is fun to think of ways to introduce more of that into our hometown.

Please join me in supporting Shah/Ankel. I look forward to their new ideas for Chatham.
