MORRISTOWN, NJ - Matt Karpowic pitched four scoreless innings to pick up the victory with relief help from Nick Saluzzi and Tyler Tornberg in Chatham's 2-0 baseball victory over Delbarton on Friday.

Saluzzi pitched one scoreless frame before Tornberg earned the save by throwing the final two innings as Chatham (15-7) held Delbarton (15-6) to a total of five hits.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the third when Tyler Brock doubled, moved to third on a grounder by Sean Lee and scored on a passed ball.

Chatham pushed across its second run in the sixth. Peter DeMaria drew a walk and Andrew Bergman followed with a double. Ben Gorski plated the run with a sacrifice fly.

Chatham opens state tournament play at Chatham High on Monday when 10th-seeded Rahway visits No. 7 Chatham for a 4 p.m. start.
