CHATHAM, NJ - The Carillo boys and their father got ready to meet Giants legend Lawrence Taylor by watching a youtube video of his greatest hits on the football field Friday night.
L.T. was at Legends Gallery in Chatham on Saturday afternoon to sign autographs and pose for photos. Chatham Township resident Joe Carillo and his three boys, Joey, Nick and Chris were among the Taylor fans who came out to meet the NFL Hall of Famer.
Nick Carillo plays linebacker for the Chatham 7th Grade youth football team.
"We're L.T. fans," Carillo said. "We got ready last night by watching highlights on youtube."
Dan Pitzer, owner of Breaking the Chain Counselors in Chatham, came to meet his childhood idol.
"I've been a fan since I was a kid," he said.
Taylor was at ease during the session, conversing with fans he met. One man told him that when he came to the U.S. from Hungary he lived in Miami and was orginally a Dolphin fan. "I became a Giant fan because of you," he told L.T.
Another fan told Taylor that he remembered every game he played and L.T. joked that he was going to test his memory.
