Can you believe within a few short weeks, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving? Then almost without blinking, we’ll be lighting the first candle and celebrating the Festival of Lights, or Hanukah.

It’s also time to think about where you and your family will be having Thanksgiving dinner. Will you be enjoying dinner at home with family and friends or plan to dine at a restaurant?  And, given weather conditions, or health related issues, which local restaurant would be delighted to cater your holiday meal?

As we move closer to the holiday season, I’ll suggest places to shop for specialty food items. I'll also let you know which of your favorite restaurants and take-out places will generously offer to cater your Holiday spread.

As youngsters, trained chefs and highly respected restauranteurs, Chris and John Tocci spent summers at the family’s small hotel, located in the Catskill Mountains.

“That’s where we really became acquainted with the hospitality business, said Chris Tocci who divides his time between La Griglia Seafood and Wine Bar in Kenilworth, and Water and Wine in Warren.

Along with his brother, John Tocci, who serves as Executive Chef at Water and Wine and La Griglia, the brothers continue to focus on their hospitality and comfort of their clientele.

“We sold our first restaurant Toscana, in Montclair, and in 1996, purchased La Griglia  in Kenilworth,” continued Chris Tocci. “After a total renovation, which included our fabulous wine cellar and well-stocked, bar off  the main dining room, we fell in love with the landscape and location of Water and Wine in Watchung. We welcome guests for lunch, dinner, and private parties at both of our Restaurants. Our well-trained and congenial staff are always ready to serve you.”

Guests are always encouraged to create their own Wine Flight. Choose three 2.5 oz. glasses from a fine selection of  featured wines. ($15). Longtime Chatham Resident Passes the Torch to Current Residents

July 13, 2018

To the Editor,

I moved to Chatham from Ohio in 1961 and left just over a year or so ago. My daughters went through the school system and one of them still lives there with her son.

Clearly, we found the Library and local educational opportunities to our liking.

When it came to giving back to the community, I chose to support the Library and served as a Board member for 15 ...
