CHATHAM, NJ - Melissa Landry pitched a perfect game for Chatham in a 3-0 softball victory over Summit in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 state tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday at the Chatham Middle School.

The senior right-hander, who threw two straight one-hitters before her perfect game against Summit (18-6), struck out six in retiring all 21 batters she faced.

Leadoff batter Bonnie Kennedy backed Landry's gem with three hits, including a double, scored a run and drove in one for Chatham (20-8). Anna Lengner doubled and knocked in two runs for the Cougars. Hallie Pellegrin had a hit and a run scored for Chatham.
