League of Women Voters to Hold Chatham Township Committee Candidate's Forum, Tuesday, Oct. 24

CHATHAM, NJ - The Morristown Area League of Women Voters will hold a forum for Chatham Township Committee candidates 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Chatham Township Municipal Building 58 Meyersvlle Rd.

The free event is open to the public.

In the Nov. 7 election, Republican incumbents, Chatham Township Deputy Mayor Karen Swartz and committee member Mike Kelly, will each be seeking a second three-year term. Their Democratic challengers are Stacey Ewald and Tracy Ness.

Also, a special election to fill the unexpired term of Republican John Maurer, who resigned from the Chatham Township Committee in August when he moved to North Carolina, will be held. Tayfun Selen was approved by the Chatham Township Committee as Maurer's replacement and is serving now. He'll be challenged in the Nov. 7 election by Democrat Salil Sheth.
