Your library continues to work hard for you. It offers Takeout service for contactless pickup of books and other items, as well as downloadable eBooks, music, movies, audiobooks, exciting virtual programming for residents of all ages, and more.
Many of you are asking when the building will reopen to the public. The Board of Trustees agrees unanimously that our goal is to reopen as quickly and safely as possible.
CDC guidance on COVID‑19 suggests installing sanitizing equipment in heating/air conditioning systems. This equipment, which will also respond to specific maintenance issues of the facility, is back-ordered, and we are exploring options to get it more quickly. As always, health and safety of our patrons and staff is paramount.
Also, as a joint institution, the library will look to guidance of the leadership of Chatham Borough and Chatham Township, and plans to reopen their respective municipal buildings.
Further, we will look to advice by the health officers of both towns.

So much has changed, but what remains the same is that the library continues to offer enjoyable services and programming -- and, yes, printed books. We look forward to reopening the building, and in the meantime please take advantage of the many cultural, social, and intellectual offerings from the community center that is your library.
