Logsdon, Brown Win Gold Medals to Lead Chatham Boys Track to 2nd at Sectionals

TOMS RIVER NJ - Avery Brown won the 400 and Colin Logsdon crossed first in the 1,600 in leading Chatham to a second-place team finish at the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 state sectionals on Saturday in the Bennett Center.

West Windsor/Plainsboro North won the section with 50 points. The Cougars were second with 36 and Mendham was third with 31.

Brown posted a time of 50.45 in winning the 400-meter sectional crown and Logsdon posted a 1,600 time of 4:26.3.

Top six qualified for Group 3 finals next week:
Colin Logsdon:  3200 meter run: 3rd place in PR of 9:39.83
Adam Oare:  Shot Put: 4th place;  PR of 43 feet, 11 inches.
4x400: 3rd place;  3:36.1; Team of Vincent Avallone, Jaylen Haye, Anthony Scerbo and Avery Brown.

Other top Chatham performers included:

Connor Kressler:  Shot Put;  8th place;  PR of 39 feet, 11.25 inches
Bo Radaam:  3200;  7th place in PR of 9:44.67
Liam Cadden:  1600;  8th place in PR of 4:33.59
Liam Cadden:  800;  10th place in PR of 2:04.25

Thomas Walsh:  High Jump;  9th place at 5 feet, 8 inches
