Logsdon, Haye, Oare, Walsh Win Sectional Medals for Chatham Boys Track; Advance to Group 3 Meet

MADISON, NJ - Colin Logsdon and Jaylen Haye each won multiple medals for the Chatham boys track team a the Group 3 sectional meet held Friday and Saturday at Madison High School.

Logsdon, a junior, placed second in the 1,600-meter run in a personal record time of 4:21.58 and was third in the 3,200, setting a personal record with a time of 9:25.95. 

Haye earned three medals, setting personal records in all three events. The senior placed fourth in the 400 in 50.58; placed fifth in the 100 in 11.26 and finished fifh in the 200 in 22.81.

Logsdon and Haye, along with Chatham teammates Adam Oare and Thomas Walsh have earned a spot in the state Group 3 meet set for next weekend at Northern Burlington High.

Oare placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 134 feet. Walsh cleared 5 feet, 10 inches to place sixth in the high jump.

Other notable Chatham performances included Vincent Avallone, 7th place in the 400 in 51.31; Matt Saluti, 8th place in the pole vault in a personal record height of 11 feet; the relay team of Matt Stasiukevicius, Paul Malatesta, Colin Logsdon and Liam Cadden, 7th place in the 4x800 in a season-best time of 8:16.26, and Filip Bahunek, 8th place in the javelin with a throw of 150 feet, 9 inches.Other person records or season bests set by Chatham athletes: Liam Cadden, 2:00.5 in the 800; Paul Malatesta, 2:02.5 in the 800; Matt Stasiukevicius, 2:01 in the 800; the 4x100 relay team of Vince Avallone, Jaylen Haye, Mike DePinto and Ian Higgins, 11th in 45:44;  John Romano, 63.73 in the intermediate hurdles; Ian Higgins, 59.63 in the intermediate hurdles; Paul Coyne, 16th in the 3,200 in 9:59.85; Van Benedict, 17.31 in the high hurdles; 4x400 relay team of Vincent Avallone, Liam Cadden, Paul Malatesta and Christian Siauw, 2nd-best time of the season in 3:36.3.
