Logsdon, Viola Highlight Chatham Boys Track Performance at DeSchriver Invitational

MADISON, NJ - Colin Logsdon placed second in the 1,600-meter run, just .02 behind the winner, and freshman Sam Viola broke a 13-year-old JV meet record in the 600 for Chatham at the DeSchriver Invitational boys winter track meet at Drew University on Friday.

Logsdon continued his break-through season with "a dive to the finish line" in the 1,600, finishing second just .02 seconds from the win with a time of 4:34.1, according to Chatham coach Patrick Barry.

Viola broke a 13-year-old record in the JV 600, winning in 1:31.64.  The old record was 1:31.83 set by Chris Caggiano, also of Chatham.

Thomas Walsh continued his rapid improvement in the 55 Hurdles by winning the JV division in 9.38.  Cougar shot put throwers set personal records, too, with Connor Kressler edging closer to the 40 foot mark at 39'5.75".
