Madison Rotary Club Installs New Officers

The Rotary Club of Madison held its annual Installation Dinner on Wednesday, June 6 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.   The celebration was to thank the outgoing Officers and Board Members and to welcome its new slate of officers for the year 2012-2013. 

President Joe Smith passed the gavel to Carmela Moeller, who took the reins effective July 1.  The balance of the slate of officers includes Camper Bull, President-Elect;   Deborah Starker, Vice President;  Treasurer, Art Powell; Mara Johnson, Asst. Treasurer,  Secretary, Barry Kroll.

Other Officers include:  David Morozoff, Membership Chair; Joe Smith, Grants & Sponsorships Chair;  Cathie Coultas, Recording Secretary; Nino Coviello, Sergeant-at-Arms, A.M.;  Bob Chapman, Sergeant-at-Arms, P.M.

Board Members include Ernie Cicconi, Carmen DeRosa, Missy Durham, Christopher Mattioli, Lois Bhatt, John Hoover, Diane Mann, Jeannie Tsukamoto.     Paul Harris Fellows were awarded either for significant financial contributions or for distinguished club service.  Recipients were as follows:   Judy Kroll, Una Phelan, Missy Durham, Pat Naylor, Art Powell, Tom Haralampoudis, Marty Horn, Lois Bhatt, Jim Costello,  Cathie Coultas Andy Boles, Rosemarie McCauley, Tom Uhlman, and Jim Allison.  A Paul Harris Fellow was granted posthumously to Ralph Englesman.

Special recognition was given to the members of the Madison High School Interact Club, for their  efforts and accomplishments during the past year.  Interact Club is Rotary International’s High School component.  The Madison High School club has grown exponentially since its inception in 2006 and has identified humanitarian needs locally and internationally for which they raise funds. 

President Carmela Moeller, thanked Joe Smith for his accomplishments during his tenure and recognized the accomplishments of the Club during that time.  She noted that during her tenure, the Rotary Club of Madison will be celebrating its 90th Anniversary (in May 2013), so a number of special events will be held.
