Memorial Day Commemoration in Chatham Borough, May 28th

The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Chatham invite residents to honor those who have served our country in order to preserve our freedoms by participating in this year’s Memorial Day Commemoration.  The annual commemoration will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2012 at 8:00 A.M. at the monuments in front of the Library of the Chathams.  Any veteran that would like to attend should call Janice Piccolo at Borough Hall at 973-635-0674, ext. 200 so that enough reserved seating is made available.

Mayor Bruce A. Harris has indicated that the short program will include patriotic music, the raising of the colors and the placement of a floral wreath in front of the memorials honoring those residents who have served, been wounded, held captive or even died in their service to our country.  The ceremony will take place rain or shine.

Council Members Victoria Fife and Len Resto are handling the arrangements for the commemoration. Please join us in honoring these brave men and women on Memorial Day.

Any questions regarding the event should be addressed to Councilman Len Resto at 973-635-5373 or
