Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad Needs You

911-We need you!!! Join the Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad today! Become a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician, responding to our town's emergencies and join our fun and supportive, friendly team of EMTs. Make this years resolution REALLY count!

In a few weeks, another year, 2010, will be upon us. Part of the annual rite of entering into the next year is the practice of making "new year resolutions". Now is an appropriate time to remind the community that their First Aid Squad is in the midst of a recruitment drive for members to join the squad. What could be a better resolution than taking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course and joining the squad? There is a course starting in January.

Writing a check to charity will surely add to one's future karma, but for most of us nothing beats the "here and now satisfaction" of being able to help personally an individual in need. That satisfaction comes on a regular basis to those residents of the community who choose to join the Millburn-Short Hills Volunteer First Aid Squad.

In an increasingly impersonal world of voice mails, e-mails, faxes, beepers, pagers and other electronic means of communication, not involving actually dealing with another human being, the squad offers its members what is becoming a unique experience - the interaction of people, real people. It is that interaction, coupled with the belief that each of us has an obligation to help his fellow man that has made the squad a vital part of this community for more than four decades.

The First Aid Squad is starting a new search for members to replace those who have already given to their community and have moved away or can no longer commit to the squad. The adventure begins with taking an EMT course.

Those needing additional information about our course and becoming a part of this wonderful organization, please call me at (973) 564-7005 or visit our website at We are always in need of volunteers! Many of our members are also instructors and we are on hand to offer one on one support and mentoring. Should you need to take the course on alternate dates we will do our best to accommodate you.

So call me, John Miksch, today and let the EMT adventure begin! 973 564 7005
