Beginning on or around Monday, August 19, 2019, N. Passaic Ave in Chatham Borough will undergo a road restructuring project under the direction of the Morris County Department of Engineering. This project will include curbing, sidewalks, drainage, milling and paving. A majority of the restructuring work will take place between Weston Ave and the Florham Park border. The final milling and paving phase will take place along the entire length of N. Passaic Ave.
The project is expected to continue through the month of September. The work will be conducted Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – not to include weekends or legal holidays. During the major restructuring phase, N. Passaic Ave will have an alternating traffic pattern. During the milling and paving phase, N. Passaic Ave will be closed and will have a clearly marked detour route to follow.
During this roadway improvement period, The Chatham Police Traffic Safety Unit asks that you plan alternate routes and expect delays when using N. Passaic Ave. Alert Chatham Borough messages will be sent out daily advising of either alternating traffic or road closures.
