MADISON, NJ - After a year of renovation the highly anticipated "Healthy Italia" has opened it's doors at 55 Main Street in Madison and has patrons swooning over imported oils, pasta and sauces as well as exclusive cookware and fresh bread.

Healthy Italia is not just a market. By May 2016 the location, one of the largest in the downtown, will also house a grand scale Italian Cooking School.

"All of our product are imported exclusively for our Madison store from small towns in Italy," Paolo and Roberto, the new owners, said. "Our team researches each producer and finds products that meet our high standards of healthy ingredients and superior taste.

"Eating healthy is all about the ingredients and at Healthy Italia our ingredients are high quality, all natural imported from Italy, most of which exclusively for our store."

Specialty products include organic and gluten free pastas (made from non GMO corn and rice) and the store is stocking "Risoli" Italian cookware, exclusive in the United States to Healthy Italia including Dr. Green, a new line for the company.

Healthy Italia's owners are native Italians who take great pride in their country and its food and want their customers to get a true Italian experience.

"You feel like you're in Italy once you step inside the doors. The decor is stunning and the products are authentic and delicious," Andrea Zembilis of Cedar Knolls said.

The location will also be offering Italian language classes for adults and kids with courses beginning April 25.

Opening in May 2016, the cooking studio offers hands on classes, demonstrations, ladies night out, date night classes, workshops, lunch and learn, kids classes, private events and parties.

"We are creating the ultimate Italian kitchen in our Madison store.  We want your time here to be a journey, a culinary and cultural experience,"  Paulo said.

The lavish environment is not synonymous with high price. The store carries all reasonably priced goods.

"Healthy does not have to be expensive if sourced properly," Roberto said. " We feature a revolving line of imports, many of which are small batches of products in limited quantities depending on growing season and supplier. For example, we are currently sourcing a small batch of very high quality pure honey from producers in Italy.  There will only be 50 jars available."

To experience a local 'tour' through Italy, visit Healthy Italia at 55 Main Street, Madison, NJ or to sign up for classes please call the studio at 973-966-5200.

At age eleven she’s figured out that we adults need to be reminded how to speak to one another in order to fix a problem. But I have hope and belief that we can fix that discourse in our ...
