Panagakos, 4x800 Relay Team to Represent Chatham Girls at Group 3 State Track & Field Championships

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Melina Panagakos placed sixth in the high jump by clearing 4 feet, 10 inches and the 4x800 team of Lauren Mumby, Anna VanWie, Maggie Gates, and Micah McGrath finished in sixth place with a time of 11:00.58 for the Chatham girls at the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 track & field championships over the weekend at Middletown North High.

Panagakos and the 4x800 team advance to the Group 3 championships on Saturday.
Other Chatham highlights from the sectionals included:

The 4x400 team consisting of Katie Caracciolo, Katie Helman, Anya D'Costa, and Leila Kirton placed seventh with a season-best time of 4:12.26

The 4x100 team consisting of Sophia Lally, Maya Lee, Julia Shehadi, Melina Panagakos in 10th place with a season-best time of 51.78

  • Anya D'Costa earned 11th place in the 800 in a personal best time of 2:28.11
  • Melina Panagakos in the 100-meter high hurdles in a personal best time of 16.45
  • Katie Caracciolo in the 400 in 62.30
  • Christine Madden with 13th place in discus with a personal best throw of 83 feet, 2 inches
  • Cat Madden 14th in discus with a throw of 81 feet, 1 inch
  • Julia Shehadi 14th in high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 8 inches
  • Leila Kirton 14th in the intermediate hurdles with a time of 71.90
  • Leila Kirton 15th in the 100-meter high hurdles in a personal best of 16.99
  • Anya D'Costa 15th in the 400 in a personal best time of 62.42
