Pellegin Walk-Off Home Run in the 7th Wins it for Chatham Softball in Tournament Final

CHATHAM, NJ - Morgan Pellegrin hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to give Chatham a 2-1 softball victory over Hanover Park in the championship game of Chatham's Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament on Saturday at Shunpike Field.

Chatham (4-1) had defeated Hopatcong, 15-3, earlier in the day to reach the championship game.

Against Hanover Park (3-1), Chatham scored on an error to take a 1-0 lead in the fifth before the Hornets scored to make it 1-1 in the sixth inning. Melissa Landry pitched a two-hitter for Chatham to win it, striking out seven and walking three.

In the five-inning win over Hopatcong, Camryn Davies collected three hits, three runs scored and three RBI to highlight the 13-hit attack. Bonnie Kennedy contributed two hits and three RBI for the Lady Cougars, who also received a three-run homer from Lauren Sullivan. Anna Lengner struck out seven and allowed one earned run in gaining the win on the mound.
