Prill, Kirton, Walsh, Maltby Highlight Girls Track Performance for Chatham

CHATHAM, NJ - Simone Kirton and Sarah Prill each won three events, Laura Walsh won two races and Morgan Maltby had the winning throw in the javelin to highlight the effort for the Chatham girls track team, which defeated Parsippany Hills, 98-39, and bowed to Roxbury, 75-65, on Monday.

Kirton won the intermediate hurdles in 64.6; took first in the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.3 and won the 200-meter run in 27.4.

Prill crossed first in the 100-meter dash in 13.4; won the long jump with a leap of 14'-9 1/4" and the triple jump in 29'-9 1/4."

Walsh swept both distance races, taking the 1,600-meter run in 5:29.2 and the 3,200 in 11:47.9.

Maltby won the javelin with a throw of 97'-4"  and anchored the winning 4X400 relay team, winning in 4:27.3 with Erin Tencic, Grace Malanga and Colleen O'Neill. Chatham's Jianna Caronan took first in the discus with a distance of 77'-9." Colleen O'Neill won the pole vault for the Lady Cougars by clearing 9'-6."

Also taking first for Chatham was Erin Tencic, who won the 800-meter run in 2:27.4.
