CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Borough Council member Len Resto has been awarded the Sierra Club’s 2016 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Environmental Matters.

Resto, the chair of Chatham Borough's Pilgrim Pipeline Advisory Committee, has worked in opposition the proposed Pilgrim Pipeline, which would transport Bakken crude oil from Albany, N.Y. to Linden and back again - passing through Chatham.

Resto has been a driving force behind the creation of the Municipal Pipeline Group (MPG), where 15 municipalities have banded together and obtained legal representation to protect Chatham's interests in regard to the Pilgrim Pipeline.
