Dear Editor,

I am writing to show my support for the candidacy of Thomas "Steve" Coffey for Chatham Borough Council. Over the last 10 years, Steve has been a tireless volunteer and advocate for Chatham. I have had a lot of involvement with Steve through youth athletics - he has coached both of my sons in various sports spanning several seasons.

Steve is loved as a coach by his players and their parents. And beyond his coaching role on the field, he is actively involved off the field ensuring the success of the overall sports programs of Chatham. He volunteers his time to work with the town to secure valuable field space, to drive various fundraising efforts, and to ensure coaches throughout the league receive the proper certifications and training.

Steve is known as the guy that "shows up." He knows how to work across all lines to pull people together to make a plan and take action. His commitment and dedication are driven by his love for Chatham and the residents of his town.

I have every belief that Steve will bring the same level of intense commitment to the Borough Council -"showing up" for us all to make the decisions we need to move our town forward. I hope he will have your vote on November 7th.

Sincerely,
Alyson Carlin

Imagine a Chatham Toboggan Ride from the Top of Fairmount Avenue to Main Street

Those were the days!

This was back in the early to mid-1900s. The Passaic River meandered through grassy meadows and woods on the north side of Chatham. The marshy ...
