The Holiday Season begins at La Pergola in Millburn. Family and friends will be thrilled to feast on beautiful food served with love and care. Proprietors, Executive Chef Agron, and Baker Driola Kaloshi of New Providence prepare bowls of delicious Butternut Squash, Pumpkin, Red Bell Pepper, or their special Ribollita (twice-boiled) Tuscan soup with parmesan cheese, vegetables, and white beans, baked until bubbly, then served. Whatever soup you choose, it will capture the winter season.
“Along with our Foccaccia bread, our pastas, and desserts are prepared fresh, each day,” said Agron. “Please remember, you are more than welcome to order whatever appears on our menu for take-out. Just give us a call, and whatever your menu selections, including dessert, will be ready for pick-up at your convenience.”
The menu at La Pergola is filled with delectable “Specials”. Appetizers are priced from $12 to $16. Antipasto La Pergola, with tangy Burrata cheese is paired with tomatoes, beet carpaccio, parma prosciutto, grilled jumbo shrimp, and baby greens with Balsamic dressing, ($16); Baby String Bean Salad is chock full of cherry tomatoes, red onions, roasted beets, almonds and shaved parmigiano-reggiano cheese, ($14).
Guests are always welcome to order appetizers from their raw bar featuring: Shrimp Cocktail, Little Neck Clams, Blue Point Oysters, $14, and a Lump Crab Meat cocktail, $14.
At La Pergola, Entree Specials are priced from $22 to $34 and feature: Grilled Quail, stuffed with figs, and Gorgonzola cheese over Mushroom Risotto, and Veal Toscana with wild mushrooms, artichokes, sundried tomatoes and Madeira Wine Sauce, ($28). Featured pastas include: Homemade Tagliatelle Frutti Di Mare, with pesto sauce, shrimp, mussels, and clams, ($24), and Homemade Squash Ravioli with brown butter and sage sauce, ($18).
Fabulous Holiday Entrees highlight: Grilled Sirloin Steak with melted Gorgonzola Cheese, Roasted peppers, portobello mushroom and Amarone red wine sauce, ($34); Filet of Sole Piccata, lemon white wine, caper sauce, and fresh herbs, ($32); Pan Seared Rack of Pork with figs and Rosemary port wine sauce, ($32); and Chicken Saltimbocca with prosciutto di parma, fontina cheese, Marsala sauce and spinach, ($28).
“Friends and family are always welcome at La Pergola,” continues Driola. “Many of our customers entertain guests from the New York area who marvel at our food and service. Do call and let us plan a lovely menu for your guests, or simply drop by and choose from our regular offerings.”
Why not enjoy a show at the Paper Mill Playhouse, then stop by La Pergola for lunch or dinner? "Just remember to show your ticket stub for the same day or evening performance that you are attending, and receive 20% off of your bill,” suggests Agron Kaloshi.
Please note: La Pergola proprietors Agron and Driola know that you are currently being inconvenienced with the difficult task of wanting to dine in their beautiful restaurant, and the need to locate a convenient parking space. Yes, there are twenty spaces behind their restaurant, which you are welcome to use. Yes, there is a municipal lot a few doors down from the restaurant.
If you arrive after 6 p.m., you are more than likely to find a space in their lot. If not, simply park your car in the public lot, and walk across the street to La Pergola. The Good News: Millburn is offering free holiday parking for the Holiday Season, and when the parking garage is completed, all you’ll have to do is park your car and walk directly across the street to La Pergola.
