Tomato Dinners at Restaurant Serenade in Chatham

Let’s hope the driving rain did not disturb Proprietor-Executive Chef James Laird’s gorgeous tomatoes. Plan to visit Restaurant Serenade and enjoy their annual toast to the Tomato Season. Starting now, and going straight through to the end of the bountiful season, guests can enjoy a five-course tomato dinner with or without wine pairings. 

Five-course Tomato Dinner, ($120 with wine; $80 without),

Hawaiian prawns with green tomato marmalade, almonds, and zucchini flowers: (2009 Do Ferreiro Albariño, Rias Baixas, Spain)

King salmon paillard with Red Brandywine tomatoes, beurre noisette, organic soy sauce, and capers: (2009 Chateau de Fuisse Pouilly-Fuisse Les Brules, Mâcon, France)

Tomato salad with fresh mozzarella croquettes, extra-virgin olive oil, and opal basil: (2009 Domaine de Nerleux Samur-Champigny Clos des Chatains, Loire, France)

Roasted rack of lamb with couscous roulade, preserved lemon, and harissa tomato broth: (2007 La Serena Andrea Mantengoli Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy)

Tomato tart with lemon ricotta and pineapple sorbet: (2009 La Spinetta Moscato d’Asti Bricco Quaglia, Piedmont, Italy)
