Voicing Support for Ewald, Ness and Sheth for Chatham Township Committee

Dear Editor:

I am writing to voice my support for Stacey Ewald, Tracy Ness and Shalil Sheth for Chatham Township Committee. I am a 20-plus year resident of Chatham Township having chosen this community largely because of the outstanding schools. However, a town should not rest its laurels on simply the reputation of its schools. We should be doing more to engage the community, provide programs that benefit our residents and actively represent the people.

Stacey comes to us with a background in finance and extensive volunteerism at our schools from being President of the PTO to President and Trustee of the Chatham Education Foundation. Tracy brings a wealth of experience with her professional background in Marketing and Communications and more recently as a local realtor. Her volunteer work includes being president of the Chatham Athletic Boosters. She also worked for the Chatham Independent Press for 11 years, giving her a vast level of knowledge in town government.

Shalil brings an impressive level of experience in the Real Estate industry, especially with affordable housing, which is an issue the Township is currently addressing. His knowledge and experience would be an asset. He was raised in Chatham and attended the Chatham schools and he has returned here with his family, because he is understands how great Chatham is.

These candidates bring fresh faces, new and creative ideas and diverse backgrounds and are ready to listen to and represent the people. It’s time for a change and I know these candidates are uniquely qualified to bring it on.

In Praise of Chatham’s Main Street

November 17, 2017

To the Editor:

Could Chatham Borough’s Main Street commercial district be better? Of course, it could. But upon reflection, I’m amazed at how good it is!

It’s cheerful and incredibly convenient. I’ve never failed to find parking behind the Post Office, which is such a short walk to the main strip. My family uses at least six of the restaurants ...
