I am so pleased to endorse my long-time neighbor, Frank Truilo, for Chatham Borough Council. Frank grew up in nearby New Providence and has lived in Chatham Borough for 24 years. As a local architect, he has made a name for himself as a staunch champion of preserving Chatham Borough’s small-town charm. Frank designed two of the most popular businesses on Main Street – the colonial-style Dunkin’ Donuts building and the charming new Fleur de Sel bakery.
There has been a lot of chatter about Post Office Plaza redevelopment. Like me, many of you may have had a negative reaction to the four-to-five story apartment tower that the current developer and their architects proposed. I, for one, want to see diverse housing options that would be attractive to, and affordable for, Chatham seniors, without sacrificing the small-town charm that drew us all to Chatham.
Frank understands the importance of taking a thoughtful approach to revitalizing Main Street, and has the professional skills to make it happen. He has faithfully served a number of years as co-chair of the Historic Preservation Commission. He also served on New Providence’s Planning Board and made numerous appearances before municipal Planning Boards on behalf of his clients. I can also attest that he is a wonderful neighbor, is easy to talk to, and always has a positive outlook on things.
We need Frank’s professional experience and commitment to serving Chatham’s residents to see us through the next stages of redevelopment. Please join me in voting for Frank Truilo for Chatham Borough Council.
