Fairleigh Dickinson University’s radio station, WFDU (FM), invites the public to celebrate 40 years on the air at its free media symposium on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. in Lenfell Hall at FDU’s College at Florham in Madison, N.J.
The forum will include a panel discussion on how the American public forms a worldview through the consumption of the mainstream media. Dave Marash, a well-known journalist with more than 50 years in the broadcast and news business and former Al Jazzera Washington anchor, will be the featured speaker.
Other panel members include Michael Aron of New Jersey Television and Dan Cassino, an assistant professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Cassino will report the results of a specially commissioned poll by FDU’s PublicMind on the usage of mainstream media.
Judy DeAngelis, the morning news anchor of 1010 WINS in New York, will moderate the program. The 90-minute panel discussion will allow plenty of opportunity for questions from the audience.
