Chair of Open Space Committee Backs Kelly, Swartz for Re-Election to Chatham Township Committee

Dear Editor:

We are proud to live in Chatham and grateful for the active and deeply talented community we're a part of here. All of us play a role in this.

One point of particular pride is our fiscally conservative Chatham Township Committee. The team we've elected, in tandem with our Township Administration, continues to trim the municipal portion of our property taxes, even as surrounding towns spend their way to higher taxes.

Just as significant to me, our Township Committee continues to strategically preserve open space, maintaining our town's character, clean water, and quality of life.

When the people we elect do us right, I believe in re-electing them. With all due respect to the quality and commitment of this year's challengers, I am supporting the incumbents, Mike Kelly and Karen Swartz, because they've done a great job in these two closely related areas.

In Praise of Chatham’s Main Street

November 17, 2017

To the Editor:

Could Chatham Borough’s Main Street commercial district be better? Of course, it could. But upon reflection, I’m amazed at how good it is!

It’s cheerful and incredibly convenient. I’ve never failed to find parking behind the Post Office, which is such a short walk to the main strip. My family uses at least six of the restaurants ...

Spraying Wilt-Pruf on your broadleaf evergreen shrubs, such as rhododendron, boxwood, azaleas, laurel, and holly, will help winterize them before the first hard frost. Wilt-Pruf is a long-lasting organic, non-hazardous, and biodegradable anti-transpirant spray that is applied to the foliage of plants to reduce moisture loss. It is a natural pine oil emulsion that is sprayed on and dries into a ...
