It was a family affair when David Williams won the first Downtown Dollars drawing during the Chatham’s Shop Small kickoff event. Encouraged to enter by Clare, his young daughter, David’s entry was randomly drawn for a prize of $100 Downtown Dollars. David’s wife, Cathleen, doubled their winnings by spending the Dollars at
Pour HoMMe, Purple Aardvark, Scooch A Mi and Quartet on November 24th, during the Shop Small Double Your Dollars promotion.
After her shopping experience, Cathleen stated, “We are happy to show our support in the community by shopping local, and as a winner, it became even more meaningful to do so. Shop owners in Chatham are very appreciative, helpful and even know your name.” The Williams family of four has resided in Chatham for six plus years.
The Downtown Dollars contest runs through December 22nd with one random winner notified each Saturday. Shoppers may enter each week by completing a re-entry form at any participating retailer.
Chatham Borough’s Department of Community Services and Investors Bank partnered to encourage consumers to “Shop Small” at local, brick and mortar shops by funding the weekly $100 Downtown Dollars giveaways for five consecutive weeks.
